I have a Ph.D. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida.  I spend most of my time in Patagonia, Argentina, where my husband (John Shepherd) and I live and conduct research relating to the conservation of araucaria forests.  My specialty is the ecology and conservation of small mammals.
