Research interests:



I’m interested in waste ecologies: the undesirable materials that accumulate in place, the reasons for their accumulation, their effects (harmful or not), the practices they engender or constrain — and the ways we (scholars, activists, policymakers, artists) make sense of their presence and imagine their futures. On a related note, I am interested in practices of (linguistic, material) translation with a focus in North Africa.
