Biography

My name is Katrina McClure and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Geography at the University of Kansas. I am a member of the Muscogee Nation. I was a National Science Foundation IGERT (Integrated Graduate Education and Research Training) Fellow under the C-Change (Climate Change Humans and Nature in the Global Environment) Program. I work as the program coordinator for the Haskell Environmental Research Studies Institute's summer internship program for Native undergraduate students. My current research focuses on the role of place-based curriculum in summer pathway programs. I am interested in the ways that Native science inclusion in STEM serves to support and inspire Native students as they pursue STEM professions and graduate school.
